This particular Singing Bowl is from Orissa and is deeper. This deepness seems to correlate with an especially long sustain and ease of play. Tibetan singing bowls produce a beautiful, complex tone, full of harmonics and overtones, when struck or rubbed with a stick. Many people find them very helpful for meditation, and some practitioners use them for sound healing. ♥ Antique Tibetan Singing Bowls were made with a consecrated alloy that contained between 5 and 12 different metals; gold, silver, lead, tin, copper, mercury and most importantly iron and meteorite elements. The main alloy components that contribute to the sound are copper, tin and iron. The type of iron that was added to the bowls came from the meteorites that fell in the Himalayas. The other additional metals and sometimes crystals and minerals were also added at the time of forging. ♥ This Singing bowl is at least 100 yrs old with a natural patina so you can enjoy its beauty as it once was so many years ago. It may look new at first but look closely and you can see the age of history and can tell it was used often to make beautiful music long ago. It's bell still chimes today, and emits such a beautiful bell tone bringing your mind, body and soul at ease, and at rest. This bowl was created with the intention to be used in rituals, healing, and as an offering to the Deities placed upon your altar. Sound is very beneficial to our our health and well being. The warm tone, gentle vibration and subtle harmonic overtones provide many subtle benefits. Give yourself this little gift every day. Think of the sound as an offering for the benefit of all living things. ♥ The protective cushion is a free Gift with the purchase of the singing bowl and striker. Now as for the cushion you can see its many imperfections. I have not used a sewing machine since 6th grade. This lovely bowl needed a protective cushion so I got to work, and did the best I could with the aid of my neighbor whom came by and showed me how to use my sewing machine. ♥ The Singing bowl and striker set is 95.00 with free shipping and insurance in the USA. International shipping is 45.00 Priority mail with insurance against lost or damaged packages. With the purchase of this set I will also provide you with a meditation guide, and instructions for playing your singing bowl. ♥ FYI!♥ Shipping is Based off like Products sold and shipped. Over payment in shipping of 1.00 or more is always refunded to the buyer! Find more whimsical gifts listed at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/leighswiccanboutique?section_id=6978564

This piece is from 1896-1908. ONLY 15$ This particular piece normally runs around 50-65$ Unfortunately the one I have appears to have had professional repair at some time during its lifespan. I say professional repair because you can see where it had been repaired at some point but is completely smooth and the pattern undisturbed. Pics are included. There is also a chip on the bottom from use. This will still make a lovely piece to add to your glass collection or finish off your set at low price.
