In "Get Ready" New Order ditch the temptation of dance-floor stagnation for what seems to be a reach for that mythical pop radio sound--dead since the late 80's--guess what, the idea turns out well. "Get Ready" a hybrid of post-punk-pop-and-b push songs you can sing (even when you don't know the words), music and melody that seem so familiar that you'd think they are pop standards. About the cover design of "Get Ready", at the time gave New Order a much needed youth fueled look firmly placed in the now, yet over the years this image of a young woman holding a consumer video camera will look less of the now, and more of the then, the then you missed out on, the then that was really cool. I think this is one of my favorite Chili Peppers albums because it has Aeroplane and My Friends on it. Those songs are going on my ultimate playlist, because they make me feel so happy!

My favorites on this album are All Apologies, Heart Shaped Box and Rape Me. I found it so cathartic when I was younger to scream "RAPE ME!"... don't know why.

For a long time I really loathed the mere mention of R.E.M. Then I realized when this album came out in '92 I was 14 and too young to appreciate it. As I got older, the R.E.M. that was blaring in my ears were songs like Losing My Religion (which I still don't like). Now that I'm older I can revisit this album and truly appreciate it for songs like: Sweetness Follows Star Me Kitten Try Not to Breathe I do like Everybody Hurts but unfortunately its beaten over our heads, ears, and eyes. Thank MTV. Great album all around.

Quindon has a beautiful voice and this is one album that I've always been able to listen to from beginning to end. Even today, it still doesn't get old and this came out in 1995! If i had to keep only 2 CD's in my Cure collection (gosh, so hard!), i'd definitely pick "Staring At The Sea" and "Galore", which contain all the singles released by the band from 78 to 97. The Greatest Hits album is good, don't ...
