Solarserver.de | solar cells-driven garden torch

This is a great idea for when you need subtle lighting outside, to show the way into the house or along a path. The solar cells collect light, and the torch has a sensor that switches the torch on as soon as it gets dark. Alternatively, there are also torches that can be switched on and off to one's liking. Why still waste precious energy when solar cells can do so much better?

For example, mine reads that we get 73% of our energy from coal (I can't help where I am. Ohio is a big coal state! How terrble). What's worse is that it compares your coal consumption to the nation's (50%). Yikes! We use 23% more coal than the national average! Ok, anyway, Gas (2%), Nuclear (23%), Hydro (1%), non-hydro renewables (0!). To boot, we exceed the national averages for carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. Please visit this site. We need to be informed on our state of energy, especially with all the talk in election and media. Do yourself a favor and become informed!

The time to harness all that free wind energy whipping around your house is now and this little wind generator will do the trick nicely. It's the most successful residential wind generator out there and has much of the technology of the big commercial wind turbines. You'll need a tower to put this wind generator where it belongs, about thirty feet up ,and you'll need a battery system to store the energy. All this will cost you a little over a grand but you'll be one step closer to jumping off the grid and living the pure and natural life.

Lately my husband and I are very into gadgets that do not require electricity or batteries to operate, so we've been checking out solar-powered and crank-powered items. I review another crank-powered lantern with lots of cool features in my Green Living list, but it is quite a bit more expensive. This lantern is simple, functional, and SUPER-BRIGHT, much brighter than you would expect from a wind-up. It's great for emergencies (like power-outages, never have to worry about dead batteries again!), camping, to keep in the car for roadside emergencies, and travel. We love it! This lantern has the following features: Five super-bright LED lamps Dynamo power is ideal for emergencies, camping, picnics Sturdy ABS housing, shatter-resistant thermoplastic lens Protective aluminum roll cage Overall dimensions: 10-3/4" high x 7" diameter; Weight: 1.75 lbs.

If we are really going to help this planet become a little greener, than we should probably be helping our children to grow up with the idea that alternative energy sources, sustainable management of resources, and efficient use of energy are all just common sense. Let them grow up with solar, and we will find ourselves in a world filled with solar. Let them grow up in a world filled with organic foods and eco-friendly products, and they will continue that trend. So why not start by teaching your favorite youngster about solar with this solar-operated helicopter? We first started looking for something like this after our last power outage (rural Michigan), which lasted two days. Cranking the handle for about a minute creates a store of energy that should last about an hour! We started thinking how savvy it is to create electricity using mere manpower. This is also the perfect solution for no-electricity situations, including camping (it's sooooo light and narrow for easy packing), traveling, and power outages. Never worry again about not having charged/full batteries when you need them. But the coolest thing about this lantern is the extra features, including compass, 15 red and white LED emergency flashing beacon,# AM/FM radio with MP3 input, 120 decibel siren, night light, high frequency, ultrasonic mosquito repeller, cell phone charger (for a Nokia cell phone, adapters are available for other model phones), and MP3 connector cord. All of this without batteries or power cord!!
