You've got the cruisiers with the "nasty" stuff! : ) If you remember greasers in school or John Travolta in Grease -- this movie soundtrack will make you smile, hum and dance. One of my absolute favorite albums. This modest early '80s hit film about a fictional '60s rock icon who mysteriously disappears (or does he?) took its lead from similar legends surrounding the death of Jim Morrison. Its succesful soundtrack arose from an even more surreal brew of art and commerce. Then-journeyman musician John Cafferty and his Beaver Brown Band essentially became the, er, "real" Eddie and the Cruisers, with actor Michael Pare lip-synching the vocals, and other actors miming their parts. Cafferty and crew supply what was then a fair approximation of the Springsteen Sensibility--wall-of-sound bar rock with overreaching lyrics and grab-your-throat vocals.

  • american case study houses at their best from eichler to neutra, this book brings so-cal-cool into your livingroom. great table candy for mid-century modernists.

  • This album (along with Volume 2) is unlike anything else in my music collection. It's swing from 50's South Africa. Some in English, some in language(s) I don't understand. Every piece is inventive and musical.
