Get Ready ~ New Order

Get Ready ~ New Order

The collision between British musicians and Black American music has produced an ever growing treasury of limb-pulsing, butt-shaking, hart-swelling music, which--thankfully is often the result of soul-brothers and sisters made from the most unlikely sort--case in point, New Order. In "Get Ready" New Order ditch the temptation of dance-floor stagnation for what seems to be a reach for that mythical pop radio sound--dead since the late 80's--guess what, the idea turns out well. "Get Ready" a hybrid of post-punk-pop-and-b push songs you can sing (even when you don't know the words), music and melody that seem so familiar that you'd think they are pop standards. About the cover design of "Get Ready", at the time gave New Order a much needed youth fueled look firmly placed in the now, yet over the years this image of a young woman holding a consumer video camera will look less of the now, and more of the then, the then you missed out on, the then that was really cool. Nice work :) Noteworthy Tracks: Crystal 60 miles an hour Rock the Shack Someone Like You
