Recently though, i got the deluxe editionof Strangers Almanac and it's blowing my mind of alt country beauty.

NO, Weezer hasn't made a decent album since the mid 90s, but the albums they did make back then still stand has some of my all time favorite records. For me, Modest Mouse have never been a name synonymous with awesomeness. They were actually always just the Float On guys or Good News for People Who Love Bad News, but before that, we got this one. It's a truly iconic rock album

I love status quo beck. We all do, but something magical happened in 2002, when he substituted sarcastic lyrics for deeper, more sincere melodies. Sea Changes happened and it's one of the best albums of the decade.

I wont sugarcoat my feelings, I would by this album -- no matter what, no matetr how bad it was. Thankfully though, the Lips have pulled out another awesome one. They continue to change directions, btu stay true to their legacy.

Na het poppy First Train Home lijkt Wait It Out de Hide & Seek van Ellipse. Muzikale progressie of ingeslagen andere wegen zijn er niet. Tamelijk onschuldig kabbelen de nummers voort (Little Bird, Swoon, Between Sheets), zoals dat ook bij de albums van A-Ha en Dido gebeurt. Earth grijpt er wat percussie bij en knipoogt vocaal naar Alanis Morissette, zoals ook op 2-1. In Tidal verschuift de instrumentatie van strijkers en drum'n'bass uit een doosje naar 80's synth arpeggio's, terwijl Heap in staccato doorzingt. Aha sprankelt ondanks de 'lala' frasen. Na het 2 minuten tussenspel The Fire op piano en het geluid van knapperend haardhout pakt de akoestische gitaar in Canvas de draad weer op. De ruimtelijke synth soundscapes doen hier aan landgenoten Note For A Child denken. Half Life schommelt je zachtjes naar het eind. Sommige tracks zijn goed doordacht, het geheel te mager voor een rijpingstijd van 3 jaar.

It's hard to leave up t the legacy that is "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not!" However, their newest, which drops tomorrow, seems to at least compare -- both in sound and quality.
