  • I just love this show. Particularly that it's sans laugh track. I don't need to be cued to laugh. If it's funny, I'll laugh...it's simple. Craziness abounds, it's like live action Dilbert. Also, I have a crush on Jim.

  • For me, this was the first Cohen Brothers film I saw. In no questionable way, it transformed me into a lifetime fan. And, even though it was made over 20 years ago, it remains one of the funniest films I've ever seen.

With all of the wackiness that happens at Dunder Mifflin, this season was definitely pretty out there. Jim moving to Stamford and then returning to Scranton via the branches merging, to him dating Karen and then finally realizing that Pam is actually the only one for him... and that leaves out all of the craziness that is Michael Scott and Dwight, not to mention Kelly and her total diva-ness.

With the introduction of the "that's what she said" joke, it might possibly be one of the most subtly influential shows of our time. Who would've guessed? Anyway, I need to own this... and I would prefer if I owned it in the form of a gift for my birthday... nudge, nudge.

I just started watching this show (I know, what is wrong with me??) and I actually got myself all caught up (well, mostly) via the Netflix free trial. I marathon watched all four seasons available on Netflix, and I can't get enough. It might be silly for me to want to own these if I could just rent them via a program that I already signed up for, but I want to own it. Starting with the very first season.

Bottom line, there were lots of laughs in the film for me and it forced me to consider immigration in more serious manner.

A must-see for fans of funny movies! Sharply funny, satirical and loving, cool and an introduction to one of the most exciting film-making teams since the Boyle/Hodges/Macdonald team behind Trainspotting. Simon Pegg is Shaun, a going-nowhere loser who's biggest dilemna is winning back his longtime girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield) until he wakes up one morning to a London overrun with zombies. Together with his slacker buddy Ed (Nick Frost) he sets out to rescue Liz, his mum (Penelope Wilton) and their hangers-on (Liz's flatmates and his mum's husband (the always excellent Bill Nighy) and wait out the invasion in their favourite pub, The Winchester. Oh, and you'll learn everything you need to know about killing zombies!

A by-the-books, overachieving London cop is "promoted" to the seemingly sleepy English countryside by colleagues who feel threatened by his work ethic. Starring the wonderful pair of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the rural cop he is partnered with, Hot Fuzz is a wickedly funny, bang-on satire/homage of the buddy-flick (ie. Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys). If you've seen Pegg, Frost and director, Edgar Wright's previous film, Shaun of the Dead, you'll love Hot Fuzz. It's hilarious, extremely clever and the type of film you'll want to watch over and over again just to catch everything.

I try to see this movie at least once a year, as I grow older Brazil seems to make more and more sense - it is prophetic, and gives a great sense of perspective about the absurdities of our bizarre social norms. Personally, I think this is one of De Niro's most endearing roles...he's so NOT De Niro, but my absolute favorite perormance/character/message in the whole film is Katherine Helmond's (a la Who's The Boss) role as Ms. Ida Lowry. This movie is a classic for sure, and so very very Beep.
