The recent hubub about Grigory Perelman reminded me of this enjoyable book about one of the most prolific mathematicians of the 20th century. I love a story about a reclusive genius. I think I want to be one when I grow up.

Personally, I think this is one of De Niro's most endearing roles...he's so NOT De Niro, but my absolute favorite perormance/character/message in the whole film is Katherine Helmond's (a la Who's The Boss) role as Ms. Ida Lowry. This movie is a classic for sure, and so very very Beep.
