Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do: Sigur Rós
This is the music that accompanied Sigur Ros's collaboration with The Merce Cunningham Dance Company at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which I was lucky enough to have seen in person. Experimental, melodic, organic, avant-garde. Just plain interesting. Although it's better with the modern dance to go with it, still a great standalone recording.
Brilliance from start to finish. I think this is one of their finest records. Cohesive, ethereal, rich, orchestral, ambient, emotional, moving. Simply stunning.
By far one of the best bands, and records, to come out of Iceland. More straight-up ambient and less orchestral than their countrymen Sigur Ros, this is an excellent CD. (FYI: the band's name is pronounced "moom")
