Empire Records: The Soundtrack
A totally great indie movie and terrific soundtrack. This movie made being a music geek cool for me. With songs by the Gin Blossoms, The Cranberries, Better than Ezra, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Cracker just to name a few, this is a kick-ass compilation if you're into 90s music. With the incredibly catchy "Sugarhigh" as the albums capping track.

One of my favorite albums to listen to when I travel. Especially on am track to up state New York. I hear she had displeasure with fame and the music industry but we know we can't stop a genius, even if she or we try.

Nico's Chelsea Girl (1967) was not her debut solo effort. The album is an introspective with a longing for dreams and love.

I've been going through a bit of a Belle & Sebastian phase (it's unending, really). So, even though this is their first (and my least favorite album of theirs), i thought it deserved a nod because, well, it's still damn good.

Moby's play was imperative to the development of my music appreciation. Sure, he had other greats before this one. However, and maybe only for timing, but this one was the one i appreciate most. I mean, "Honey?" Awesome song.

Say whatever you will about Tori Amos, but her cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit on this '92 EP is top notch. Nothing against her, but this is probably the only thing of hers I'll ever actually own.

The biggest problem with browsing through old music is that you realize you still love it. Sure, I haven't listened to this alum in years. But, I'm sure I could sing every word.
