Angels in America is phenomenal! Set in the 80's the film (cable miniseries) is about the lives of several people living in New York who are affected, in various ways, by the AIDS epidemic. Funny, philosophical, tragic and at times, fantastical. Great performances from an ensemble cast including (Jeffrey Wright (Basquiat), Meryl Streep (A Cry in the Dark), Al Pacino (Scarface), Patrick Wilson (Little Children), Mary Louise Parker (Weeds) and Justin Kirk (Weeds).

A classic love story about a boy and his blow up doll. THis is one of those films that went under the radar but was really a sweet and intelligent story. Great performances too! A must see if you haven't seen it already.

For me, this was the first Cohen Brothers film I saw. In no questionable way, it transformed me into a lifetime fan. And, even though it was made over 20 years ago, it remains one of the funniest films I've ever seen.

If nothing else, this created an iconic symbol of love that will be reused and recycled for-probably-ever. So, i think it's in everyone's pop culture savy interest to go out and watch this one.

When I was young I loved loved loved this show! It was like magic. I recommend it for anyone with small kids. The story is of orphan Anne and her adventures in a new home and school. I'd really like to watch this again.

Its funny how a movie can be great but considered a failure because it didn't bring in enough money at the box office. Such was the case with Terry Gilliam's fantasy film Baron Munchausen. This movie is so ouch. I mean, I knew things were going to be bad going into this movie. And of course it gets worse and worse and worse until you're left broken with all hope in humanity lost. But I guess thats not just the movie... This movie is so ouch. I mean, I knew things were going to be bad going into this movie. And of course it gets worse and worse and worse until you're left broken with all hope in humanity lost. But I guess thats not just the movie but the story of what happened to Brandon Teena, a trangender F to M who was murdered in some podunk town. So if we can divorce the movie from its relation (as accurate or inaccurate as it is) to the actual events and just critic the film, I would say this is a damn good movie. Although Hollywood couldn't bring itself to cast an actual transgender man, I have to say Hilary Swank did a great job. And somebody needs to tell Ms. Swank no matter how many movies she's in where they kill her off, that doesn't guarantee an Oscar.
