Paradize: Indochine

Paradize: Indochine

This was my first album by Indochine (singles first sent from Miumina!) in 2002, and it probably still stands as my favourite album. During a time when I craved more French music and French culture (French being one of my majors at university) this definitely fulfilled my needs. I could describe the songs as dark, emotional, but still with traces of pop. The expansion and experimentation of instruments and sounds, and the mix of energy and dark serenity were also an unexpected bonus. If you are a fan of Placebo this is album I highly recommend checking out.

Merilahti) and a massive hit in many european countries right now, thanks to the single "On My Shoulders". Mixing folk, rock, experimental and even rap, this record is simply brilliant -- I'm always a bit sceptical about so-called "trendy" bands, but here it's totally justified. Shouldn't be long before the album gets released in the US/Canada. http://www.myspace.com/thedoband
