Then there's potato stamps - cut potato in half, carve a design into flat part, dip in paint and stamp away. That's ok. But the most fun kiddie use of a potato has to be a potato gun.

He was kind enough to take them inside his house and pretend to eat them. What a nice man. I recommended this brand because it reflects my more adult, refined interest in dirt - for bonsai trees.

Sometimes I got to use real colored tissue paper, but when there was none available it was pink and white Kleenex time. Tissues and glue makes me think of snot, which is of course is the ultimate kiddle crack (and lunch time snack).
