PHENOMENAL SKIS!!! seriously, i ski every day of the season and was looking for some new planks this year that weren't going to cost too much. i wandered into a local shop and they had some of these in last year's model available unmounted for 75% off. i was a little leery of buying Roxy skis because i'd only ever noticed 13 year old girls riding them but after a bit of googling i discovered they are made by Rossignol and the reviews were stellar. I took a deep breath and bought them. (note... a little bit hard to find a binding for them as they are 92 underfoot and require a wider brake) i've been skiing them for several days now and think i love them more than my boyfriend. they are an unreal combination of stiffness and pop, quick snappy turns in crud and bumps are possible, but they also lay down nice and firm in sweet, fast carving turns on the groomers. i haven't found any conditions yet that these skis don't excel in. they've even improved my jumping and crud skiing abilities, they are just so solid. i LOVE these skis, i can't recommend them enough. (fyi i am an expert skier that skis every day in all conditions and on all terrain. if these work for me they'll work for anyone.)

  • Part of the Shaun White line, it's hard not to say they're awesome. They're going to work perfect for all mountain condition, but the lifts, for example, make the more than practical for when you're done with the slopes.

So, it's really important that you can actually sleep and freezing half to death wont be very restful. So, that's what I recommend this North Face bag. The hooded sleeping bag is always a plus, but the ability of this bag to maintain warm temperatures in bellow freezing weather is nothing short os spectacular.

No, you're not going to survive a blizzard in this one, but it'll be perfect for a hike on one of those sunny winter days. The breathable fleece will prevent you from feeling clammy on a hike and being "regular fit" means you can layer up underneath and not feel like a stuffed animal. Plus, it's able and ready for a TNF shell.

  • After 10 days of snowboarding/skiing Burton Snowboards are definitely the way to go. Superior quality and by far the most popular on the slopes.

FINALLY ski gear is being built FOR women, instead of just being shrunk down versions of mens gear and painted pink. These boots fit snug through the heel, eliminating that ever-frustrating heel lift, which is a HUGE problem if you are trying to have a strong, smooth turn. With these boots, all that is gone. Plus, they are comfortable enough to walk around in all day, up and down hills and stairs, and are relatively light weight so you can tour with ease. Great boots, worth the investment.

"The Mountain Hardwear Men's Compressor PL Jacket is a super-light insulator for high-alpine assaults. It packs down in a small stuff sack and fits in the corner of your pack until you need it as an extra layer. Mountain Hardwear stuffed it with synthetic PrimaLoft One insulation, which maintains its insulating properties even when wet. Beyond climbing, the Compressor's light weight and packability make it easy to bring on backcountry tours or even as a mid-layer for lift skiing."
