Premise: A great slice of pepperoni pizza is hard to find! Report: (a) The last best piece I had was at Giovanni's in Mammoth and it was exceptional ! Since then it has been all downhill. (b) Tried the pepperoni pizza at Beech Pizza in the Palisades: diappointing, mushy crust; added red and yellow peppers instead of the extra garlic I requested. (c) Usually Numero Uno is tip top but I tried the pepp. pizza at Highland and Wilshire: maybe one tablespoon of sauce on the entire pizza. Maybe ! I sent it back. Replacement had more pepperoni slices but still no sauce to speak of. I told the waitress and she said to ask for 'extra sauce' next time. I said all they had to do was include it in the first place. (d) I hear Valentino's at Redondo Beach Blvd. and Aviation is Excellent but I have not had a chance to try it yet. Resolution: So the journey continues. Challenges: It is simply to far to travel to Regina's on the north end of Boston, Mass. and Giovanni's does not deliver to L.A.
