Becca Glossy Lip Tint in Marsala

Becca Glossy Lip Tint in Marsala

I’m so glad I’ve discovered the Becca line! This was a perfect introduction for me to this brand and now this is one of go-to lip glosses (and yes I have A LOT of glosses). The shade is a golden brown that has some shimmer (but not glitter). The texture is soft and creamy but did not feel heavy on my lips. It also did a great job of moisturization which I love. Although this may look like a common brown shade at first glance in the tube, it’s actually quite varied and unique, as it’s a gorgeous coppery brown with the addition of a very slight golden shimmer. It looks darker in the tube than on the lips. I used it alone and I also love it over milky brown lip liner for a delicious caramel/honey tinted mouth. This is also very sexy to pair with a smoky eye at night. This shade will work best up to a Garcelle Beauvais complexion, and if you have a more pigmented lip tone applying a brown lip liner will be necessary to really see all the tones of this gloss. R.K.

The Flip for It Palette features seven products 4 lip shades, 2 eye shadows and 1 cheek shade. It measures about 3.5"in x 3.5"in and includes a mirror and a snap shut front closure with hard case. Los Angeles Kit includes: Lip Colors: Melrose, Rodeo, Malibu and Beverly Hills Eyes Colors: Hollywood, Mulholland and Cheek Color: Sunset Strip The colors are really pretty and versatile. My favorites were the two eye shades -- Hollywood, a shimmery taupe and Mulholland, a pretty deep golden-brown shade with light gold shimmer. I loved using Mulholland as a eyeliner as well. The cheek shade is a soft pink/coral, perfect for spring and really brightened up my complexion. This blush will work best up to a Michelle Obamba shade. To get to the second palette, I just had to flip the tray around. The two lip colors Melrose and Rodeo Flip were "your lips but better shades". Melrose is a true sheer cinnamon and Rodeo is a deeper sheer brick red. These will work on all skin tones, but note that they are for a sheer, glossy look (so if you lips are more pigmented a light trace of lip liner will help to define the color). The glosses are also pretty. Malibu is a medium peach and Beverly Hills is a melon shade that worked well combined and also with either one of the lip shades. They have a nice mint scent as well. All of these shades can be built up, so you can have a very neutral look or a much more dramatic one with this one palette. All this for only $20! Brilliant! Note: This is such a great concept for a palette, but we would love to see an applicator included for true ease of use and to make it the perfect little item for travel. For those of you who are more interested in a combination of vibrant and pastel pinks and purples, try the Tokyo Kit!

Do you like lip colors that are cheery and fun? If the answer to all three of these questions is "yes" then this Outlast Lipstain is THE product for you, like it was for me! I was immediately drawn to this fresh and bright shade, Wild Berry Pink. As with any lip stain, it's important that lips are as smooth as possible, so I exfoliated well before my first application. My first impression was the flavor of the stain -- it was sweet but not overly so and left a nice scent as well. The pen itself was very easy to use (yes it looks and is almost the exact size of a highlighter pen). I worked quickly to deposit the color first on my top then bottom lips, using light, smooth strokes. There is an enormous amount of pigment in this shade. The color is a very deep berry pink with a touch of red and is bright but not in a "neon" way. The product did just what it said. It didn't budge, feather, smudge or get on my teeth at all. It was truly the workhorse of my makeup on the days I wore it! I also loved that it dried quickly and worked well with glosses when I wanted a shinier lip. (Tip:let the stain dry completely before adding gloss!). During the day, the color didn't fade very much, and when it did towards the end of the day, it faded evenly. This particular shade may be a bit too bright for very pale skins, but will work very well with those with skintones in the Jennifer Lopez to Gabrielle Union range. The Outlast Lipstain line has a few lighter pinks and pinky/browns that will work on lighter skin tones or for a more nude lip, however. Note: If you have very dry lips make sure you apply a generous layer of lip balm before applying this product."

I usually wear it in a sloppy bun that I pretend looks very cute. With Miss Jessie's I am brave enough to wear my hair down in all with its volumes of tiny corkscrew amazingness. This stuff makes my hair soft and wonderful. The first time I put it on my hair after a wash my jaw dropped at how great it looked with very little effort. I have been using this for more than two years (a 16 oz. tub lasts about 6 months for me) and if I found out it was going off the market I would have an anxiety attack.

The packaging is beautiful, with a beautiful vintage velvet black vine with red buds design (creating a subtle “S” for Stila I suppose?) contrasted against a stark white background. One of the best features about the packaging is that the pans are removable (magnetic) and the palette can be reused. All four colors matched perfectly together. The two stars of the palette are the gold eye shadow (upper right hand corner) which is just gorgeous and it made my brown eyes "pop!" Is a beautifully rich gold that is warm, has depth and would look good on everyone. Each of the shadows is buttery smooth and is highly pigmented, making for easy application and long wear. The second standout is the blush. It is beautiful and gave me a natural flush. It is very pigmented though so it should be applied with a very fluffy brush and layered lightly. The blush has no shimmer, it's a matte finish. The other two eye shadows are neutral ones. The lightest shade I used as a very subtle highlight or as a wash. It gave me just a subtle shine. The other shadow is a pretty chocolate shimmer. With the exception of the lightest shade, everything else is super pigmented so use a light hand. Note: The packaging is beautiful, but if you keep this in your purse as opposed to home and it bangs around a lot those fine black threads creating the vine decoration on the cover will shed. If you're looking for a nice nude palette with a twist this is it! It became my go-to when I felt inspired to use neutral and unique bright colors together. And long after this palette's is finished I will be able to continue to enjoy the beauty of the packaging. It is a gift that keeps on giving. The palette as a whole will work best up to a Gabrielle Union complexion, but the eye shadows will work on all skin tones.

The scent is a glorious blend of lemongrass and verbena, which is blended beautifully with lavender. The texture of the wash is a light gel. Just a little created a very nice lather which did not dry out my skin (but a little lotion was still needed, post shower. See my review below for the body lotion). For those of you who are bath takers, it also made an excellent bath with a nice aromatherapy touch.

What an amazing concept that L’Oreal has crafted to perfection! I loved that these tubes include a little brush and case (which has a little “well” on the lower left hand side where you can mix the shade (with other cream shadows as well). I applied with the brush that came with it and they applied evenly & smoothly (for those of you who can’t give up your cream eye shadow brushes, yes this did also work well with mine, but you can’t beat the small compact one included for touchups and travel! Nervy is a cool frosty taupe that read a bit greyer on my skin. This cream shadow is slightly shimmery and deeply pigmented. I was impressed by the eye shadow not creasing after 10+ hrs of wear as well. It was truly amazing. The formula is virtually budge proof once applied (I swiped it on my hand to test the color and then tried to rinse it off. It actually took several washings with soap before it was gone). I also loved using this as a base for powder shadows (yes it also works well with the HIP powder shadows and the color truth eye liner ). All in all, this is a really pretty neutral color that will work with all skin tones and can be layered to make it a more dramatic color as well. A little dab (as small as a pen point actually) is more than enough to cover both eye lids. I found that I could also use my finders to blend it to really get a fine, detailed look as well. This is a truly innovative product and an amazing buy to boot!

This little lip color pen really does have it all -- it's a gorgeous, neutral pink with a hint of peach, milky and pigmented but very wearable. Petit Four is a pink leaning toward rose with a teensy bit of peach--no shimmer, no drama, but lovely. The texture is wonderful, it lasts amazingly long and it's pigmented, which was great when I was looking for a moisturizing lip color that I could actually see, and not just over lip liner. I can actually wear this without lip liner and it's very well defined. For those of you who may not be the biggest fans of the twist and polish lip pens (sometimes getting the exact amount of clicks to dispense the perfect amount of lip color can be a challenge), this CHANEL version the best of I've tried. This lip pen is also a real hybrid of creamy lipstick/gloss formula which was just faintly sticky, and had very comfortable wear (4+ hours) and great balance of subdued shine and full pigment. I've received several compliments since wearing this shade. This is simply a beautiful product to treat yourself to. This color will work best up to a Queen Latifiah shade.

Since it has moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, on warmer days I didn't have to use extra moisturizer. One spray was generally enough for my whole face too! I did find that it was a little sticky right after spraying, but it absorbed quickly and left my face smooth. I love a lemony fragrance, but even for those of you who are not huge fans of fragrance in your products, it really was not too strong, and the scent faded quickly. It also didn't break me out, and it made my skin feel soft and refreshed. It is preservative free and 78% organic. I really felt that this completed my cleansing process and prepped my skin for moisturizer. It contains lots of wonderful ingredients such as floral water of lemon balm and ginger, herbal infusion of grapefruit, orange, and white tea; and aloe vera. It’s perfect for travel and the gym due to the size and shape of the bottle as well. Lovely product!
