Conserve Energy Saving 8-Outlet Surge Protector with Remote Switch

I have been waiting for Belkin's Conserve surge protector to appear on its website since January when I first read about it in CES reviews. It's finally on the site- though not for sale quite yet (list price is $50). Why have I been stalking this surge protector? Because it comes with a wall mountable remote control that will shut off up to 6 devices and keep them from drawing standby power- which can account for 5-10% of a household's energy use! Two "always on" slots remain available for things like routers and answering machines. I only hope they work on one frequency so that one remote can turn off my whole house. Fabulous.

This wonderful 'power strip' doesn't sit on the floor under your desk gathering dust. Instead it clamps onto a desk or table, hiding the ugly power source all while keeping your cords untangled. Belkin also has a concealed power strip but it's in a big white box which isn't so pretty. Until they figure out how to make EVERYTHING wireless, here's a decent solution.
