Piano Man: The Very Best of Billy Joel

Piano Man: The Very Best of Billy Joel

Bill has a special sweet spot in my heart. We went to the same school and years later hung out at many of the same places with mutual friends. It's hard for me to pick my favorite song out of this CD, since they are all so good. From Piano Man to New York State of Mind, Honesty to Just the Way You Are each tugs at your romantic side and is a good way to say Happy Valentine's Day.

Because the title track is probably my favorite song ever. I'm not saying it's my favorite song now (or ever will be again). I'm just saying that when I was a kid, I was unequivocally obsessed with it and I don't think I'll ever like a song as much as I did at that time.

Although I would probably pick "Movin' Out" as my favorite Billy Joel album, I love so many songs on each of the albums he has produced that I whole-heartedly recommend this collection of greatest hits. In the end, he IS "the piano man" and I love him most when he displays that sweet, vulnerable side of his musicality.
