The enamel was fused to the copper in a kiln. The copper was oxidized to a dark gray to contrast with the white enamel. The back is coated with a clear enamel. The pendant has been sealed with museum wax to preserve the finish. Comes with a 16" sterling silver ball chain that has been oxidized to match.
