Bodum Canteen Cup

Bodum Canteen Cup

I have a set of the double walled glasses and I love them, perfect for tea or latte. You can pour a boiling hot beverage inside, and the exterior stays cool to the touch. I also love being able to see the inside, which you can't do with a porcelain cup. For tea lovers, this is perfect for those hand-rolled teas that unfold at the bottom of your cup. The canteen is the same as the glasses I have with the added benefit of a handle, althought it might be fragile, since the glass is mouth-blown.

I know I love this brand and now I want to build my collection with this tea press that has won design awards. From Bodum: Winner of two prestigious design awards: the 2006 iF Design award and the 2005 Formland design award, Bodum’s new Bora Bora Double Wall Tea Press will keep your tea hotter for longer. Handmade of borosilicate glass, the double wall construction has thermal properties that keep tea hot for a much longer period of time while remaining cool to the touch and eliminating the need for a trivet. Incorporating Bodum’s patented tea press system, the Bora Bora allows you to brew your tea until it reaches your desired strength; then with the press of a plunger, completely stop the brewing process. The infuser eliminates “stewed” or bitter tea by separating the tea leaves from the water. With an elegant sphere-shaped body — beautifully sculpted to characterize traditional British design — and a chrome lid to complement every table setting, the Bora Bora combines beauty and function in the most exquisite way. The Bora Bora also features a dishwasher safe stainless steel tea infuser, which allows for a continuous flow of water through the tea and with proper use will last a lifetime!

I love my double walled glasses for my morning tea. They're very light and delicate so you have to be careful but you don't need to worry about burning your hand because the heat doesn't penetrate the second wall. And of course they look great. From Bodum: Our Assam double wall glass collection is a design innovation. These (0.2 l, 7.0 oz.) glasses are made of ultra-light, heat resistant, mouth-blown borosilicate glass. Their unique double wall design creates a highly effective layer of insulation that keeps hot drinks hot without burning your fingers and cold drinks cold without the messy condensation. The glasses are available in a variety of sizes to perfectly frame espressos, cappuccinos, beer and iced drinks, forever eliminating the need for a coaster. Proving that design works when form follows function, these thermo glasses have already been awarded with two prestigious international design awards: The International iF Product Design Award 2005 “for their pure and minimal design” and The Materialica Design Award 2004 “for using a known material in an innovative way.” Also available in 3 oz. and 9 oz. 13.5 oz sizes.

Obviously, the glass is tempered for extra strength and durability, but there's still an elegance to it that you just couldn't get with many other materials.
