Heineken Premium Light
Heineken entered the market with Heineken Premium Light Beer sometime back in April. I just got around to tasting it the other day, and I must say it is a damn fine-tasting beer. Lightish, fresh carbonation, enough remnants of the classic Heiney taste to let you know you have a beer in your hand, and a thinner bottle that screams sophistication and style - or whatever. In their haste to define a new category (dubbed 'luxury light' for those not in touch with the finer things in life...) I think they accidentally omitted a key ingredient. The beer, which seems to be targeted at those who desire a 'lighter' beer in every sense of the word, contains only 3.5% alcohol. Hey! You got your Perrier in my beer. No, YOU got your beer in MY Perrier. Maybe it'll fill a niche for those who like a nice glass of beer or eight with breakfast.
