Biodegradable Plates, Cups & Utensils
No more plastic cups, utensils, or paper plates for you. This recyclable, compostable, and/or biodegradable dinnerware is made from sugar cane fiber, which is a byproduct of the sugar refining process. There is an unlimited supply of this stuff, and it's usually burned to be disposed of so turning it into dinnerware is a much better option. And, they're "they're microwavable, freezer safe, oil resistant, and capable of handling hot or cold foods and beverages." They're super sturdy, strong, and can be 100% recycled to make paper. Make sure to set up recycle bins at your camp. One each for glass, aluminum, paper, and plastic. When you leave Burningman, there are recycling companies that take your sorted recyclables off of your hands. (If they're not sorted, they go in the trash, so be sure to sort!) Then, use these plates and dinnerware, rinse as well as u can, and place in the paper recycle bin. Voila!
