Technically, it's Breville's Indoor BBQ and Grill, but you're not really going to use it for that. It's a fancy panini grill that'll turn out the most expensive grilled cheese sandwich you've ever made at home.

We've been using this in our house since good old 12/25/09 and let me tell you, even I know how to work it. Trust me, despite being skilled when it comes to electronic devices, I'm totally lazy. Plus, I have, um...household appliance issues. We won't get into the exploding milk microwave incident.... ANYWAY, now, I don't have an excuse NOT bring my mother her coffee, which is great, because I'd love to bring it to her in bed sometime soon. If I can actually wake up before her for a change...

Don't get me wrong, I'm still addicted to my lattes. No one makes them quite like my favorite Barista...but still, if you're on a budget these are the best pods to buy, that is, if you own a Breville coffee maker (and if you don't go get one). At $60, these pods may not seem cheap, but for the price you get 108 cups of coffee! That's pretty good, considering each cup, roughly, costs $1.80. That's way less than a specially blended Starbucks drink! Hopefully, in years to come, Keurig/Breville will come out with more "K Cup" choices, but for now, these will tide me over. If you're totally hooked on your Starbucks, however, and must must have it, buy a Tassimo (they come with special Starbucks pods). It's not as great as the Breville though, and a lot noisier... I wish these were available at more locations than just Target. Maybe Giant Eagle or Cosco will start selling um, who knows. Hey, I'm willing to make the trip. My other favorites include: Green Mountain Coffee and Green Mountain Hot Chocolate. So goooooood.

The quality of the coffee is great if you consider yourself a little picky about your morning brew. Heats well, fast and no clean up. LOVE IT>

And just as bandages get called "Band-Aids" whether they are or not, and tissues are "Kleenex" whether they are or not, a sandwich made in a press is a Breville as far as my Aussie friends taught me. Brevilles can be made with absolutely ANY leftovers you have. Spag Bol? (spaghetti bolognese) Fantastic. Nutella and bananas? Hell yes. Enchiladas? Yup, those too. Seriously, if you can squish it between two pieces of bread, the Breville maker will hand you a toasty yummy snack in no time. It's like making your own Hot Pockets, and I don't think Jim Gaffigan would fault you these ones. Another kitchen gadget I fantasize about having enough room for. Oooh, I wonder if they make one that is the sandwich press plates AND panini grill plates? Oh lordy that would be heaven. . . .

The best panini maker. I now own this sucker and abuse it regularly. Just think of new year sandwiches of toasted brioche, topped with creme fraishe and a dollop of caviar.

Oh! My roommate has this electric kettle and I pretty much use it everyday. I drink a lot of tea, and like my water to be really hot, so this is a dream come true. Heat is up on the wired base, then remove once it gets hot to wher... Oh! My roommate has this electric kettle and I pretty much use it everyday. I like the idea that I could make a modest initial investment and save myself $3-5 a day on coffee. It's definitely easier than waiting in line at the coffee shop.
