Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT SLR 8-MP Camera
I don't cook with it, but I frequently have to take quick digital photos of the products I buy or cook and email them to clients. This 8 megapixel prosumer SLR takes great photos and is fast enough to catch a toddler in action.

wow - what a difference a lens can make. I just upgraded to this lens from the standard kit lens (18-55mm) that came with my Canon Rebel XSi. WOW. It's amazing. As far as digital SLRs go this one it the tops. I love it because it provide amazing photos in the prosumer price range. You should buy the lens kit version because it comes with an EF lens which will last years and allow you to... As far as digital SLRs go this one it the tops. They run a bit expensive, but it's a small price to pay for e-... Be sure to get lots of close-ups on flowers, insects, and other things in nature--things that look the same even though every photographer insists on continuously taking pictures of them... or take pictures of yourself doing something that's not that clever, but add a catchy caption to it.

A joy to use, the full-frame sensor performs gloriously. And it's been more rugged than I'd expected. It's my all-time favorite body.

The canon EOS 30d takes beautiful pictures. A little more advanced for first-time photographers, but easy to get the hang of after a bit. More pricey than the Canon rebel, but more bells and whistles too, and designed for a little... The canon EOS 30d takes beautiful pictures. Ok. I am no trained photographer, but I could probably get hired to photograph somebody's wedding with the way pictures come out on this camera. Point, shoot, and voila - you have some beautiful lighting, composition, saturation, ... Ok. I am no trained photographer, but I could probably get hired to photograph somebody's wedding with the way pictures come out on this camera. Point, shoot, and voila - you have some beautiful lighting, composition, saturation, everything. It's almost like it does all the work for you. Not too expensive for the quality you get - it far surpasses any point-and-shoot!
