Freaky movie that was well done and it is based on the novel by Hubert Selby Jr., and its is undoubtedly one of the most effective films ever made about the experience of drug addiction.

So this may actually be one of the smartest movies I have seen in a while. True, there is a LOT of crap out there, but that doesn't change the fact that this movie is brilliant. Basically, it tells the story of this guy Tony Wilson and how he made Manchester the center of music in the seventies. It is build like a documentary and it's entertaining as hell! Tony Wilson makes so many smart, sarcastic side comments, you can't but smirk most of the time. You get a pretty good idea on the atmosphere of the time, not to mention on the musical scene. Joy Division, The sex pistols, New Order, Happy Mondays.....just to name a few. It's definetly worth watching! (and yes, I jumped up and down like an idiot when they showed Janie Jones from the Clash for miserable 5 seconds).

It stars Black Thought from the Roots, Naomie Harris, Rosario Dawson and Paul Dano as residents of a poverty stricken neighborhood in North Philladelphia (Philly! Woot!). The movie follows interconnected stories of love, relationships and poverty in this slice of life American tale. Looks powerful! In theaters March 6th 2009.

Although one may be sympatheitc to Hoffman's cause you can't help but cringe at how his personnal struggles (including drug addiction) at times overshadowed and diminished his activism. But hey, nobodys perfect. Abbie Hoffamn is definately a figure in American history people should know about.

This is a must see documentary about Amish teens. When they turn 16, they go through a period called 'Rumspringa' where they get indulge in the outside world in order to decide whether they want to remain in the church as adults. ... When they turn 16, they go through a period called 'Rumspringa' where they get indulge in the outside world in order to decide whether they want to remain in the church as adults. Pretty cool, huh? Rather than coercing kids through fear they allow them the freedom to experience and choose. Unfortunately, many of the kids go overboard (some even becoming drug addicts), however they demonstrate a kind of calm lucidity and mature rationalization of their circumstances for being, afterall, American teens. Its really interesting.

In some varying degree, this film, actually, transports you into the mind of the dysfunctional gonzo journalist, Hunter S. Thompson. The role by Depp is beyond genius and obviously a byproduct of their close friendship. I think... I was surprised that I really liked this movie. I think I wanted to hate it since Ben Affleck directed it. Its about a private detective hired to investigate the case of a missing child in his neighborhood. The P.I. (Affleck) butt... I was surprised that I really liked this movie. (Affleck) butts heads during his investigation with local cops, neighbors and his girlfriend. REally good thriller that ends with a thought provoking twist that will have you asking what you'd do in that situation.

He forms a friendship with one of his young students who's about to make a pretty bad move. Can he steer her in the right direction? Well, would you take advice from a crack head. I think not. All the actors in this movie were outstanding! Rent this. Don't walk, run.

Until I saw this movie, I thought that it would be hard to empathize with anyone who stole for fun and profit. But, then, I had never imagined a character so intractably evil and resonate of the devil as Keyser Söze. Who that ch... Until I saw this movie, I thought that it would be hard to empathize with anyone who stole for fun and profit. But, then, I had never imagined a character so intractably evil and resonate of the devil as Keyser Söze. Who that character is remains a mystery until the bloody and bitter end. And the plot twist is truly the pièce de résistance of the film. And, of course, there is nothing "usual" about any of the suspects.
