The Philadelphia Story

The Philadelphia Story

Katherine Hepburn reprises her Broadway role in this movie, and she is a classic tour de force. In fact, they all are...Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart. The entire movie is one snarky, drunken, confused love-fest and it's fabulous! I didn't see this film until I was in my early 20's, and I was actually upset at my parents for not making me watch it sooner. Don't even bother renting this one. Just buy it and thank me later.

But out of his limited budgets and lurid studio-provided titles, he crafted masterpieces of horror and suspense. His atmospheric films are often neglected and rarely talked about and this boxed set includes the best for an incredibly reasonable price. These are truly artistic thrillers all together in one collection for less than $30 bucks. Don't let the silly titles fool you...these are serious films about the dark half of mankind. To quote an editorial review of the collection, James Agee, the premier American film critic of the 1940s, reckoned that Val Lewton was one of the three foremost creative figures in Hollywood--an assessment yet more impressive when we consider that the other two were Charles Chaplin and Walt Disney. Includes: Cat People / The Curse of the Cat People / I Walked with a Zombie / The Body Snatcher / Isle of the Dead / Bedlam / The Leopard Man / The Ghost Ship / The Seventh Victim / Shadows in the Dark

  • I love Arcana soaps. The packaging is classic and the soaps all have unique scents. Breakfast in Hollywood is great for those that love rose scents.

  • I have always wanted to walk around with Paul Newman on my chest (or at least in some close proximity) and now I can. he's so dreamy.

  • Roman Polanski's brooding film noir exposes the darkest side of the land of sunshine, the Los Angeles of the 1930s, where power is the only currency--and the only real thing worth buying. Fabulous movie - a must-see!!

It's not a syrupy Hillary Duff chick flick. Every year we watch this movie on a really cold rainy day with lots of (spiked) hot chocolate and yummy food to keep us going. This movie is good, good, GOOD. It's epic like they just don't do epic anymore. You won't believe how unbelieveably cool Clark Gable is - and Vivian Leigh is both a complete basket case and total bad a##.
