Founded in 2007, K.Brat derives its name from the designer Keren Brat. Keren's goal has always been to pursue self-expression through novel methods and the highest quality materials. Her deep fascination with anthropology is also keenly and subtlety reflected in her designs. The labels' 2010/11 'Boundaries' collection of handbags and belts boasts exquisite leathers - skins from shoulder patent leather to soft calfskin, different lambskins, and fully grained goatskin. For an original finish there is also the inclusion of pony-hide with retained hair. Employing extraordinary skill and care, the leather panels are cut, stitched and edge-coated by hand. The 'Boundaries' bags play with colours, textures and shapes. The bags are dramatically constructed with uncompromising yet flattering sculpted bodies. The beautiful 100% Tibetan silk linings, all hand picked, are one of the collection's signatures. Each is stitched and tied with a mix of Czech glass, solid brass, wood and bone beads. 'Boundaries' belts are equally superlative - constructed from 2 or 3mm shoulder calfskin with solid brass hardware. The bags and belts have a daring edge, yet are practical for everyday use by women who want to stand out and be noticed. There is an intentional mix of hard against soft, traditional against modern - united in harmonious composition. The collection is now presented to exclusive boutiques and department stores in London, Paris, Berlin and Tokyo.
