  • jonathan adler first tried his hand at pottery during a summer camp when he was only twelve years old. after begging his parents to buy him his own wheel & kiln, adler spent his teenage years in the basement throwing pots. jonatha... jonathan adler first tried his hand at pottery during a summer camp when he was only twelve years old. after begging his parents to buy him his own wheel & kiln, adler spent his teenage years in the basement throwing pots. jonathan adler’s first commercial pottery venture was in 1994 when he sold some of his pots to barney’s. in 1997, with the help of ‘aid to artisans’, he spent time in peru at a workshop by the sea where a creative explosion ensued. jonathan adler then opened his first store in soho the following year. between 2002-2005, adler expanded his collection from pottery to furniture & other home accessories as well as opened an additional five stores from los angeles to miami. druggist is a collection of translucent porcelain vessels that are reason enough to get passionate about pottery. each piece is first thrown on the wheel and the trompe-l’oeil chains and emotions are added afterwards, evoking the impression of old apothecary jars. the jars are available in matte white or black porcelain – the unglazed finish accentuates the handcrafted details and forms of the pieces. there are also two mugs & bathroom accessories that are available in glazed white porcelain.
