Lost in La Mancha

Lost in La Mancha

I like director Terry Gilliam (Adventures of Baron Munchausen/ Twelve Monkeys/ Time Bandits). I have faith in him. He's an eccentric visionary. Some people say he's cursed. With nearly every film, some uncanny occurrance almost brings him to a halt. (Heath Ledger died during the making of his latest film) Lost in La Mancha is a documentary of a Terry Gilliam movie that was shot but we will never see it. Why? It went over budget for many, many reasons and the financiers took possession of it. The fantasy film was based on the story Don Quixote and starred Johnny Depp. This documentary gives a great behind the scenes look at the nightmare of movie production. It also gives you the only sneak peek of what I believe would have been an awesome movie. Unfortunately it will sit in some vault somewhere forever. Sigh.

  • I'm a sci fi geek so I'll see this regardless. Its a deep space horror/ thriller about a crew that wakes up with no memory on an abandoned ship. Madness insues. It stars Dennis Quaid (who I'm pretty indifferent about) and Ben Fost... I'm a sci fi geek so I'll see this regardless. It stars Dennis Quaid (who I'm pretty indifferent about) and Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma) who I actually thing is one of the best young actors of his generation. Is that really saying much though? Anyway, I'll be in the theater to see this one in September.

  • This movie scared the ish out of me. When me and my friend left the movie theater, a car back fired and we screamed, held hands and ran for the car. So I don't want to tell you too much so you can enjoy it for yourself.
