Matt & Nat 'Fifty-Five' Satchel
Once in a while, one of your favorite things becomes the "it" item of the season. This year, it's the satchel: definitely my favorite style of handbag. And this magenta one is great, because it's bright (but not obnoxiously so), large (but not overwhelming) and it can be held by the handles or worn cross-body.
Whether yellow or orange or pink, this version of the Cambridge Satchel Company satchel will blend with absolutely nothing in your closet. But, then again, who wants to blend?
No way are you going incognito with this bag slung on your shoulder, but the combination of sequins and camouflage is oddly enticing and inexplicably glamorous. If you want to go bold, this bag is your wing girl.
Proenza Schouler gives the old-school school bag a luxe leather upgrade and steals the spring 2011 handbag show. Of course, Lake Bell's Botkier then becomes the fab little sister to the PS1's handsome big brother.
This is the perfect commuter bag. It's large enough to fit my files with plenty of compartments and outside pockets; I can carry it on my arm, on my shoulder or cross-body; and it's has a hint of shimmer so it's not boring.
