Lara Johnston is clearly on the rise with her powerful voice and fiery, captivating stage presence. Touring tirelessly, Lara Johnston has performed in the United States, Europe and Canada where she has shared the stage or opened for:Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller, Willie Nelson, KISS, Tower of Power, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Huey Lewis, Pablo Cruise, Journey and Cheap Trick. She also won 3rd place in the prestigious BMI Foundation John Lennon Scholarship Competition. Not many 21 year olds can attract the attention of some of the most powerful names in music as Lara has. While Lara generally writes her own songs, she spent months collaborating on her new album with Nashville greats like Producer/songwriter Mike Krompass, and song writers Steve Diamond, Jim McCormick, Tebey and Tommy Lee James. Between the five of them these chart topping songwriters have worked with artists like Taylor Swift, Pixie Lott, David Archuleta, and Orianthi. Their talent and expertise is very influential on Lara’s new album being released later this year. What makes her so captivating, aside from her beauty, is the powerful voice that comes from within her and her ability to perform them effortlessly with a range of influences including Pop, Funk, Gospel, Rock, Jazz and Blues. Perhaps her favorite is Soul music. She was inspired at a young age by Aretha Franklin. She has truly achieved her aspiration and inspiration; to channel Aretha’s powerful, emotional and heartfelt story telling, making Lara the extraordinary artist that she has become. This was one of my first vinyl albums and is arguably one of the best albums of all time. Plus, it has "Human Nature" which is one of my favorite MJ songs of all time (written by by Steve Porcaro of the band Toto and John Bettis).

And Madonna skipped across the Pond. But, with a deft flick of her wrist, Beyonce took up where the beat left off, using her show-stopping choreography and eye-popping curves to breathe life back into the music video. And, now, that slick little hand gesture is recognized by nearly everyone as the universal symbol of twenty-first century groove.

So, although it is impossible to package Madonna herself, this DVD set is a package deal which does her living legacy proud.

This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for either men or women ages 28-65. Anyone who likes rock, ambient music, drums-n-bass, world music, new age, practices yoga or meditation and is a fan of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Clannad, David Sylvain, Greg Ellis, Enya, Loreena McKennit, Loreena McKnight or Lisbeth Scott, will love this CD! Biomusique is Lisbeth Scott & Greg Ellis' band - they are like the dream duo instrumentalist and vocalist. I originally got hooked when I loved the music so much from Chronicles of Narnia so much, I checked into who did the soundtrack and found this CD by from BIOMUSIQUE - 10,000 steps. Its by Lisbeth Scott & Greg Ellis - they have both contributed on so many soundtracks like Chronicles, Ironman,. Passion of the Christ, Lord of the Rings, 300 Gladiators and so many more. It has a really unique feeling to it...very calming and passionate with a wicked beat!!

Amazing music to dance to, work out with, or simply to get lost in. Involver by DJ Sasha absolutely rocks. It is one continuous mix broken up into very danceable, very compelling tracks that are both musically interesting and really make your body feel like moving. The first track, grandnational, is totally amazing- slow, pulsing and building. It is a bit dark at times but ultimately hopeful, I think. The remix of Spooky's "Belong" is phenomenal- totally speaks to me and has been a touchstone for me since I first heard it. Amazing rhythyms, orchestral-like arrangements and movements w/in the piece, and ethereal and uplifting vocals that hover on the edge of being understood. Brilliant- without doubt, Belong is one of my all-time fav tracks.
