"Grimsly Manor"

Remember those little holiday snow villages that pop up around Christmas time on people's dinning room buffets and console tables, quaint porcelain houses lit up inside and nestled in fake snow made of soft white batting? My parents set up a village like that every year...And because Halloween was MY special time of year, my mom would set up a special Halloween village scene for me, repurpishing her snow village houses and other little knick knacks and items to create a creepy village that I would sit by and stare at for hours... Little did I know until recently that Department 56 - the people responsible for all those delicate light-up snow covered cottages - make a Halloween town collection...many of the best pieces have sadly been retired but there are still some awesome items for sell...This here is the Grimsly Family Manor...It's too bad that these homes are soooooo flippin' expensive because they are funny and fun and a great treat to set up for your kids...if you wanted to do it on the cheap, there's always the option of buying one of the homes that you really like and then building a scene around it with the less expensive accessories...you can buy little tombstones, pumpkin patches, creepy iron fences, spooky trees, skeletons... ...i just got distracted looking at the accessories and fantasizing about building my own Halloween Town...now I know why people spend weird sums of money for kitchen fairies and elvis plates...these Halloween houses are like my precious moments...and don't you dare judge me...

Perfect for our New Year's Day party for the kids - they love hot cider and i can make it and keep it warm and in easy access for our guests!!! What better way to take a cup of kindness in, while taking the winter chill out, than with this whimsical hot cider server from Department 56? This server divides into 3 sections: The snowman's middle holds the cider (or hot/cold beverage of your choice) and dispenses easily from the spigot; his hat keeps the heat in and the chill out (as a good snowman hat should); and his base is hollow with an easy access opening in the back to place a tealight candle (not included) to keep the drinks warm (warning - only tealight candles should be used; sterno or similar heat sources are not recommended). This ceramic piece with silver accents is dishwasher safe, but not intended for use in the microwave or the oven. 17.5" tall; 9" base diameter.
