PLANK Yoga Mat Shag
Doreen Hing of PLANK is tempting me to want to take a time out from my computer and get in downward facing dog pose. Her yoga mats scream: "Break away from the ordinary and roll out the extraordinary!" Have you ever imagined rolling out a yoga mat that looks like a tile floor with pills spilled all over? I didn’t think so. Or, how about a mat with the visual of a wood plank and a half eaten muffin? My favorite: the shag carpet with two handprints. I can envision myself internally laughing every time I would roll out any of her mats. Not only is yoga healthful, but a good little chuckle never hurt anyone.

Thanks to Area’s newest bedding pieces, I just now came up with my New Year’s resolution (only 42 days late!): only purchase organic bedding (in addition to other environmental changes). I am sure a number of people resolved to make this idea a reality months or years ago. I just needed a little more time to come around and realize the impact organic bedding can have not only in my bedroom but environmentally as well. Do I really want to sleep for 8 hours under something full of chemicals? Nope, I don’t believe so. Do I want to support the organic farmers who employ environmentally friendly farming methods?
