Wallter Hex Mobile in White
In looking at the new Wallter mobiles, I had a revelation: mobiles aren’t for babies anymore. I know, this is nothing new…mobiles have been a work of art for ages. But, I think there is something to be said for a modern day mobile. They bring a chic aspect to simple rooms. They bring movement. They bring color. At the same time, they do a similar job for wee ones as they do for adults: they catch your eye and give you a moment to daydream.

Previous popular designs are now available as wonderful lampshades. Of all my favourites this tall drum pendant lamp still stands out as the most interesting and simple way to add a modern touch to a dark corner. Lighting can really change the mood and impression of a room and what a way to really emphasize it! The only problem is that I can't decide between the blue or the red!

Sure, an alarm clock that awakens you by saying ‘good morning' in five different languages is certainly impressive, but it isn't all that necessary. And honestly, the thing we care about most when it comes to a clock are the numbers. They tell us when we're late, or on time—for once. That's why the numbers clock is so great. Stripped down to the most basic and necessary components, you can stack and rearrange the time as you please.

When I first saw his pillows I had over a handful of favorites to don my sofa. Then I saw his rugs and imagined covering all of my floor space with pieces. If that was the case no hardwood would be seen! Now I imagine moving upwards and illuminating my ceilings and tables with his lighting collection. From my top ten list of lighting favorites I think one of my chief picks is the Louis II Floor Lamp, or maybe I might prefer the Gus Table Lamp, actually the Wide Drum Pendant is awesome, and then of course I can’t leave out the Ting Table Lamp. Ok, so again I can’t make up my mind.

Perhaps it is just Wenlan Chia’s Night Fox Rug that I particularly enjoy, but I think I can foresee fox imagery sweeping the nation as the next big “it animal.” Foxes are stealthy, they are clever, they are protective…and…(I just learned this today) a fox’s hearing is so sharp they can hear a watch ticking from 40 yards away. Ok, so foxes may not take the design world by storm, but I think they will soon make a bit of a come back. You’ll see.

Remember one of Nintendo’s first controllers? I recently read (correct me if I am wrong) that this controller was perhaps the first to feature the configuration of “hold with two hands and control with your thumbs” design which is still standard today. What a defining moment in the history of gaming! And now, the evolution of the gamer control is forever documented on an upper playground pillow.

The place is has a ton of character, but it needs a little something extra on the super white walls. The answer has come to me, thank you very much, Graham and Brown…texture! Without a doubt I am a corduory person, but I may need even more spice than that…how about the small squares or jazz?

Marmalade pet care has sparked a new thought in my mind: maybe I can be a cat person! Really! I have always been a dog lover, but I don’t have the time or space to properly care for a four legged baby who barks. I know a lot of folks (namely DP peeps) who have cats and they seem to be in love with their purry pals. But, I also have a friend whose living room chair is one large cat scratcher. With the mental image of her chair in my mind I feel a little tentative about the cat situation. Fortunately, Marmalade pet care has come along just in time to ease me back into the cat person mentality: the Wall Flower Scratcher. These scratchers are a perfect design for a modern home while also being 100% recyclable at the end of its lifecycle. Yes, maybe I can be a cat person after all.
