Mioculture: Bendant Lamp
Jaime Salm took a thin piece of steel and said to himself "How can I design a wicked-nice chandelier while wasting as little of this material as possible". What resulted was the Bendant Lamp, a product so inspiring you get to design it yourself. With little wasted material and little wasted energy, Jaime has created something environmentally friendly that is made right here in the USA. You can buy the hardwiring kit or you can just throw up a hook and let it hang from the ceiling by the cord (the on/off switch is 48 inches from the plug)

Previous popular designs are now available as wonderful lampshades. Of all my favourites this tall drum pendant lamp still stands out as the most interesting and simple way to add a modern touch to a dark corner. Lighting can really change the mood and impression of a room and what a way to really emphasize it! The only problem is that I can't decide between the blue or the red!

This big guy is a whopping 30 inches in diameter. I try to imaging how big the lamp is and I surmise it to be about three of my arms (from elbow to knuckles). This really is a large lamp! Unfortunately, my apartment is about 8 of my arms wide (from elbow to knuckles) so the lamp might take up more room than I can afford to spare. Boy, I can’t wait for the day when I have more square arm space.

I think every dwelling needs at least one delicately handcrafted piece to give your space a genuine human touch. One of my personal favorites is the Paper Cloud Fancy Dinner note cards. I want to frame a bunch and put them in my kitchen. Or, maybe I’d use the cards as my excuse to have to invite friends over for a dinner party (although I don’t have that nearly that many forks or knives or spoons!)

The new TwistTogether Lamps by the TwistTogether Company appears to me to be a modern day version of a Lite Brite, Rubik’s Cube, and Mondrian painting all mixed together to form a very clever and distinctive lamp. I appreciate that these can be kid friendly, but I think it is just as significant that these are adult friendly too! I particularly enjoy the Chocolate Set with its rich classic, 50’s-ish yet modern vibe. If you have not yet seen how these lamps can be twisted together, I would highly suggest viewing the footage of a lamp in action.

From Rus Design Group, this hanging lamp is made of acrylic with two wire hanging mechanism. It's simple, clean, nice. I think it screams for some decals though.
