Gets the job done so quick you haven't the time to cry! Well of course that's a slight exaggeration but it does cut your time down with dicing things up by a lot and helps to cut the fumes down by getting those dang things chopped and out of your way lickety split! We love this one so much we were lost without our first one when it was mistakenly left in a move that we made sure to buy another the next time we had the chance!

When I saw my friend's BonVie 4-in-1 bamboo cutting board, complete with integrated tools and two sides for different purposes--I thought, "Why didn't someone invent this sooner?" It has a flat side for conventional cutting and serving. The other side is scalloped out and designed for mincing and dicing. What appear to be handles at each end of the board for serving food are actually tools that pop and pull out. One handle is a stainless steel “Ulu” chopping and mincing knife and the other handle is a stainless grater. Really clever design. The Ulu chopper/knife is one of the most ergonomic cutting instruments available, because the center of force is concentrated directly over the middle of the blade. . The BonVie is so handy in the kitchen for everyday food preparation involving mincing and chopping. But it is also a classy serving board, with 4 times the functionality of the awarding-winning Calphalon Mezzaluna or John Boos cutting block w/Mezzalun, while costing a hellova lot less. This is a keeper.

I don't consider myself a serious cook by any means, but I DO consider myself a salad connoisseur, so when I found myself sawing back and forth with my dull "knife" to slice up some tomatoes I decided something needed to be done. I did some research but ended up receiving this totally cute PINK chef's knife as a christmas present. It looks a little TOO cute, but leave it to those Japanese to make a good-looking tool that's also functional. The chef's knife is supposed to be for MEAT (as the fun cutouts of chickens and cows inside the handle say), but I don't really cut up a whole lot of meat so I've been using it to slice and dice veggies for salads. Apparently this whole line comes in different colors so you can keep track of each knife and what they're supposed to be cutting (to prevent cross-contamination). The first time I sliced a tomato with this baby, I wanted to jump for joy. It's amazing what a difference the right tools will make. It will transform your chopping experience. That said, it does feel a bit thin, but Japanese knives usually are, compared to their western counterparts. And for $25, I'm not complaining!
