Speaking in Code is an intimate account of people who are completely lost in music. A heartbreaking and lighthearted documentary, it’s a vérité glimpse into the world of techno.Captivating and entertaining, the film takes you around the world, following the people who make electronic music … their lives. I’ve watched it and could really relate in a lot of ways, from the experience of being a festival-gover, DJ, musician, and promoter who’s passionate about electronic music. In particular I found one scene where the critic Philip Sherburn becomes emotional while talking about his dead father very moving. It’s a great documentary to add to your collection if you love music. Own yours now for $19.95. “One of the most need-to-watch music docs in recent memory.” — Urb Magazine

Well the answer is only 1%. This is so, so sad. I think it's time for a new system, lest you want to keep killing your planet this way. I have to admit I enjoy fashion, and I enjoy stuff, but I definitely think that we need to change the way that we make, consume, and dispose of products. This video is a must watch, because it tells it like it is.

Many themes with the images that speak to life. I read someone saying it was alot of hype for a screensaver but I think it has so much more depth than that. Very much like the movies, "Koyaanisqatsi" and "Powaqqatsi".

There is a code that is hidden in the music you listen to, and by the way this particular code is not made of music notes or digital polarization, the body of this code is generated from cultural, political, geographical and historical events which have been suppressed to the point that the sum of them all have become one of America's biggest national secrets. What's more is the code was cracked back in the early 1970's by documentary filmmaker Tony Palmer who with the help of John Lennon revealed the secret on the BBC in a the 17 segment documentary "All You Need is Love". I recently watched the series at it's U.S. theatrical premier at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, after viewing the just introduction to the sires I kept asking my self why haven't seen anything like this before. The film was a massive success in the UK, yet never found any footing in the U.S. and no other production has ever produced anything as essential as this secret history of 20 Century music. I recommend seeing it. "3" Product Info: All You Need Is Love makes its DVD debut as a lavish boxed set which contains all 17 episodes of the series on 5 discs. Contained within those discs IS the 'Story of Popular Music,' encom-passing Ragtime, Blues, Jazz, Vaudeville, The Musical, Folk, Swing, Country and Western, Rock 'n' Roll and beyond, and includes interviews with some of the major names of the past 50+ years including John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimi Hendrix, Stephen Sondheim, Benny Goodman, Bing Crosby, Mike Oldfield, The Beach Boys, Tina Turner, Sam Phillips, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Richard Rodgers, Roy Rogers, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Phil Spector, Bill Monroe, Bill Graham, Bill Wyman, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton and many many more. It has frequently been described as the "definitive music documentary," and is regarded just as highly today as 'cult viewing' as it was over 30 years ago when it was first broadcast. In the mid-70s, at the suggestion of John Lennon, the celebrated journalist and film director Tony Palmer decided to document the "Story of Popular Music" and set about interviewing and filming all the major players in the industry at that time, past and present. Even in the mid-70s this was seen as a monumental task, but despite the scale of the undertaking, Tony Palmer made a series of films that set the standard to which all subsequent biographers and documentary makers aspired to. The critically acclaimed All You Need Is Love was broadcast across the world between 1976 and 1981. But since that time, it has neither been repeated nor commercially released on either video or DVD.

Jandek is a true fringe artist on the musical scene. This great documentary tries to figure out who Jandek is, as at the time the film was made, he had only given two interviews which were already years old, and had never played any live gigs (he has since done many, but no one still know much of anything about the guy). The man has put out a ton of self-released albums on the Corwood Industries label, each one a harrowing journey into the mind of Jandek. Who is he? Wo knows if we'll ever truly find out?

That's got to be boring!" said a friend as we were sitting down to watch this documentary. I had doubts about it myself, but it was highly recommended and I usually like documentaries, so why not? I wasn't dissappointed. This film is a window into the smart, quirky world of crossword puzzle makers and solvers. The characters are very nerdy, which makes it almost funny - imagine "Best in Show" but toned down a little since they aren't trying to make fun of these people. Good interviews with "regular" crossword solvers like Bill Clinton, Jon Stewart, and Mike Mussina as well.
