tungsten e, by palm, handheld device

i upload a lot of e-books and am a reviewer of e-book readers and devices for www.teleread.org (run by David Rothman, editor), and this is a great device with a brilliant screen and is the most intuitive e-device hand-held that i have found. I had the first Tungsten E and it was great, then a Clie, which is okay. The Dell Axim is great, but i still prefer the Tungsten - try this, don't be swayed by any other...

Surely this will be the e-book reader to finally convert the sceptics! I have been reading e-books for several years now from much smaller screens than this one, and would never go back to reading regular books now. Why bother, when I can load up a dozen books (actually, hundreds!) on my e-book reader and have it handy wherever I want? Actually, the new Kindle DX is less portable than previous versions, or other e-book options, but probably comes closest to emulating the feel of a "real" book. The book is in the contents, not in the format! Stop being sentimental about printed books - we all did it with vinyl records, and how many of us still use those now?! This is the future, get with it! By the way, this is still only on preorder from Amazon at $489 - you may well see it available on eBay for a massive markup, but I really don't see why anyone should spend money on that, you will probably get yours quicker and certainly cheaper from Amazon - less risk too...

  • Ebooks are the wave of the future, so why not carry this exclusive cherry red Sony eBook reader with burgundy case. Instead of hauling books around, carry this and have access to up to 160 books.

So another great way to kill time is to catch up on your reading. The iLiad ebook reader from iRex Technologies allows you to carry hundreds of books, magazines and even web content in a very compact package. And the e-ink technology that's used means the reading experience will be as close to a book as you can get without the papercuts. While Sony was the first to market with their own ebook reader I still recommend the iLiad for its extensive feature list and support for multiple memory formats.
