Cartesian Hook Diver

Cartesian Hook Diver

Cheap, fun, educational! Website info: Few games educate and entertain at the same time, as this one does. Designed to demonstrate basic concepts of density and buoyancy, it is based on the classic Cartesian Diver experiment named for the 17th century French philosopher and scientist Rene Descartes. The set consists of two pipettes, two hex nuts and two wires that are used to make a "diver" and a "sinker", which you place in a 2-litre pop bottle (not included) filled with water. When you squeeze the bottle, the diver sinks. As you release, the diver rises. The object of the game is to hook the sinker with the diver and lift it to the surface. Recommended for children 6 years and over. Instructions included. Adult help needed for first use. Makes a great stocking stuffer.
