The experimental model is said to be powered by four electric motors with a combined output of 231-horsepower that draw energy generated by fuel cells. The coupe model completes the standard 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 220km/h (137mph), while it has a driving range of 1,000km (622 miles).

Built on a lola racing chassis, this ultra efficient car features a unique clear plastic body that was designed and built by high school students at the automotive design studio at the delasalle education center. The car gets around 300mpg thanks to its lightweight plastic shell. The students originally wanted to use fiberglass, but this proved tooheavy. The plastic they used is a 3m products that is typically used to shrink wrap windows. a metal wireframeserves as the structure for the plastic, which is then stretched by hand and heated up to conform perfectly around the frame. the cost is inexpensive and weighs only 39 pounds. the car uses an old racing chassis that was repaired by the students. The electric engine uses a sprocket-and-chain powertrain driven by 21 lithium-ion batteries.

I would call this concept car by Kia a fashion item, the electric car for the iPod generation. A 3 seater with good looks. Hopefully they have the guts to bring it onto the road!

This is the first hydrogen car in production. If you live in Los Angeles, you can get one for $600 per month. I am trying to get one now. They average 75 mpg, and run for 278miles per refilling.
