to make these earrings, i first used my 20-ton hydraulic press to emboss a modern starburst-type pattern from an old fluorescent light lens into the fine sterling silver. then, again using my press, i cut the aster shapes with steel dies i made, drilled holes for the sterling french ear-wires and, viola: instant glam!

The beads are actually a bit darker blue than they appear here. Very pretty!

The flash of these earrings is so awesome- they look great from any angle. I created these earrings by using Spectrolite (a rare form of labradorite from Finland) nuggets and rondelles and placing Slate Blue Quartz rondelles in the middle for added interest. These earrings measure just over 2.5" from the top of the earwire. They look heavy, but they aren't!
