As a life long runner and a fitness trainer for 20 years, it is not surprising that shoes are very important to me. I honestly think I’ve tried them all, and finally I found the perfect shoe for me. It’s the Asics Gel-Kayano. It is unbeatable in comfort and support. Whether I’m doing track intervals, an easy 5-miler or standing all day in the gym, this is my shoe of choice and the one I recommend to all of my clients.

DO buy this item if you want a comfy sandal! DON'T buy it if you believe the fitness hype. A comfy shoe is always a thumbs up in my book however.

These Puma sneakers are perfect for zipping to and from yoga, or just running around to do errands. They look wonderful under jeans or yoga pants!

Easily one of the best training shoes on the market. I can teach in this for hours on end with no blisters, foot pain or hip issues.

Same great shoe (with the new asymmetrical lacing system) as that made for women, but in a more rugged style built specifically for men. Now that you've got the right wheels, it is time to hit the road . . .

Staying active in college is so important not only to avoid that pesky freshman 15 but because the way you treat your body at the tender age of 15-21 has a large impact on how your body will perform and feel for the rest of your life. Plus, most college gyms are pretty nice and membership comes free with tuition. New Balance makes great shoes that will last you a while. So get movin, and get liftin. Unless you want to end up 30 and overweight with a bad case of diabetes, damn it.

I'm caught between super ugly and maybe kind of not. The idea of flip flops that tone your legs is exciting. And gladiator sandals are always interesting...but then there is that issue of the puff. What I like about this shoes, it's durable and comfortable. They provide excellent support and comfort while running. The special shoe laces never come untied and my feet never get sweaty. Simply put, this shoe rocks.

These burgundy cardio shoes from adidas wouldn't work for running, but inside the studio when I'm fighting imaginary opponents, or in any other of multiple of fusion classes. I like the faux asian inspired pattern on the fabric along with...the shiny shiny nature of the silver.
