I'm 248 lbs and have large flat feet, not a good combination for running which impacts the knees. Since switching to ellipticals, I haven't had any shin splints or knee problems. Know how you can lose that 10 pounds of Holiday weight you gain between Thanksgiving and New Year's? Start now. Give yourself a cushion (so to speak) by kicking off that Holiday weight loss plan long before the Holidays launch by using BodyBugg, an armband that tracks the number of calories you burn, which is hopefully more than the calories you consume. You don't have to worry about looking up activities in a database and calculating how many calories you just burned while playing golf or vacuuming. BodyBugg's armband has 4 physiological sensors that do all that work for you. Not burning enough calories yet today? Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Breaking even on calories for the day? Maybe you can let yourself have that extra frozen yogurt after lunch. By the time the turkey hits the table, "healthy" will be a lifestyle, not a curse.
