Pan's Labyrinth (2006)
ACHIEVEMENT IN ART DIRECTION ACHIEVEMENT IN CINEMATOGRAPHY ACHIEVEMENT IN MAKEUP "Pan's Labyrinth" is the story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother's new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own. The special effects and the performances, especially by Sergi Lopez as Captain Vidal, are increbbly fantastic. A bit violent but well worth seeing..
Quite the thriller I'd say. It has death, sickness, suspense, everything you could ever need in a scary movie.
Thriller, violence and zombies. It doesn't get much better than that.
If you are in the market for straight up revenge, this movie is it. Part of a trilogy of revenge movies including Sympathy for Mr. Vengence, and Lady Vengence, Oldboy is my personal favorite.
not scary in a psychological sense but REALLY, incredibly disgusting, gory and gross. totally disturbing.
