Jim Zivic
Jim Zivic, who produces work under the name Burning Relic, is attracted to natural raw materials. His furniture and architectural elements are created from hand-forged patinated steel, hardwoods, and raw coal. He also does amazing things with leather: Shown here is one of his rugs, which pieces hides together with seams made of industrial stainless steel lacing that act like zippers. The result is a sophisticated, masculine aesthetic that has warmth despite its industrial components. Rugs can be made to custom sizes.
