Google Chrome

"Google Chrome" is a new browser by Google..duh!! I've been testing It for a couple days and so far so good. I might have to uninstall my Mozilla Browser. The Google Chrome is free and supposed to be clean, minimal, easy to use and faster....try it!

  • Thanks in part to the introduction of a movie rental service, Google had talked a bit about an updated Android Market user experience back at I/O in May.

Generous giant "Google" is kicking in $10 million to get those with the great ideas pitching in to lead the planet hugging way. Work on an idea while you are commuting to and from work, waiting in line, or sitting in the dentist's chair. You could be the first in a long line of "greenpreteneurs" ! I have already submitted my idea, but the more is truly the merrier in this case.

I may be the very last person on earth to discover this, but, I'm gonna say it's my new shopping obsession. Go to the google homepage, click on shopping, and it brings up a search engine for you to shop the night away with photos, and working links! It's just awesome. This search engine would be like if Google and ThisNext had a baby. Think of it, the power of Google, the awesomeness of ThisNext...the possibilites are endless. Enjoy :)

So what do you think, is it the iphone killer, or what? Ya know, I'm happy to see some serious competition on the Star Trek communicator front, this time Nexus One looks like it could be a step in the right direction. I can't wait to see if it can stop spam, and telemarketers. If not I'm sure it will one day. Still it's really great, there's so many things you can do with it depending on the apps, I imagine that one day I can get a universal translator app that lets me speak in any language and have it translate my words into another language or languages as I speak. I would love to speak with animals as well and ask them what they think of intellectual property questions and the questions of privacy. Yeah I wonder if there is a button or app that will let me keep all my calls, texting, emails, and browsing to myself so that it can't be used by others, cause I hate to sign away my rights just because I want to use a new piece of technology.

Wow. Try this PC World article for a rockin' "how to" on downloading this.... http://www.pcworld.com/article/158756/getting_your_feet_wet_with_google_ocean_first_look_in_images.html Try this CNN video link for a great summary: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2009/02/02/tatton.google.ocean.cnn?iref=videosearch Or National Geographic's Photo Gallery: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/01/photogalleries/google-ocean-pictures-gallery/ I always get into a fit of inner-flummox-inducing debate over privacy vs the public good when I Google my address and stare at updated photos of my actual house from the angle of someone standing at my mailbox. It's creepy. It's a goody basket for the stalkers I don't- but one day might- have. I don't like it. (Unless, of course, I'm socially stalking someone else with the very same cyber tools. ha.) But then I watch the same technology give my children something I never had growing up- a vivid, fascinating and educational resource that lets them travel the world in which they live from my home computer. Not depicted "as it might be" but "as it IS." Google Earth (once dubbed Google Dirt) has unveiled their newest incarnation and it comes complete with a feature called Google Ocean that blows me away. After having successfully mapped most of the planet's "dirt" features, their team was challenged to take on the 2/3 of the world that is covered by water. So they teamed with over 100 of the world's top scientific and marine-oriented organizations (even surf clubs) to do just that. The result? Jaw-dropping. Absolutely jaw-dropping. It was unveiled today. Go see it. Also check out the link I've added for the Google LatLong site to find out about more new features....
