HomeConnect - Audio/Video Cable for iPod

Do you have lots of video on your iPod that you never actually watch? Make good use of it with this cable. I am imagining making slideshows of the kids which I can then take to the grandparents' and play painlessly. Voila! Instant sappiness.

  • I can' imagine how, when, where or who would actually use this. It seems so impractical, but at the same time so genius. I mean, I friggin' love karaoke -- not by me, but by my friends. This is could a greta gift for one of them.

I'm always looking for the perfect iPod case for my 5G iPod. I usually lean towards leather cases (Vaja, a.b. sutton, aneta genova, et cetera), but I've also been known to purchase silicone cases. This is my first hard case, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's pretty darn cool and it protects the iPod well. The package contains three pieces- one front piece and two back pieces (one for 30GB iPods and one for 60/80GB iPods). The front of the case is very cool and chromelike with only a cutout for the wheel. At first it seems like you can't see the screen at all, but when the iPod's backlight comes on, the screen glows through the chrome. The back of the case is rubberized so it's got a nice, grippy feel. The front and back snap together easily, but don't come apart easily. There are cutouts on the top for the hold button and headphone jack, and a good portion of the bottom of the case is open so you can easily access the dock connector and use FM transmittors such as the iTrip. This is still kinda hard to find online, but some of the Apple stores started getting it in. Retails for $24.99 at Griffin and $29.99 at Apple. Also comes in a version for the newer Nano.
