Because the newer 'fat' nano's have been released the older versions of this tiny music player can now be had for bargain prices. Sure the newer nano's have a larger screen, but it is still too tiny to watch a movie or tv show from comfortably. The surface of the older nano's do scratch easily but it's a small price to pay since these are going for so cheap now.

Every time I move my mouse around, it sends static through the headphones. Insert this puppy into a USB port, select it as your audio output device, and set the volume LOW, because it has some serious gain. You'll be listening to glitch-free audio in no time. Plugged right in to my ubuntu linux system and worked without a hitch. This is much cheaper than the HeadRoom Total BitHead Headphone Amp and it did everything I needed.

The pre outs make it easy to add amps, so you can gradually migrate off the already very good built-in power section of the receiver. Get the receiver, get good speakers, get some heavy-duty amps, and by the time you need to replace this receiver, some totally new video tech will have come along and we'll all be listening to 14.4 sound.

I must have had these headphones about 4 years now and they are still going strong. Although I rarely DJ out any more at the peak of their use though they were going on the road about once a fortnight but they've been hammered hard at home on a regular basis. Good DJ headphones should be able to withstand the loudest mixer signals without distortion and the SEDJ-5000's are comfortably up to the task. (Your ears on the other hand are not - you have been warned!) Beyond their ability to take a good pumping these headphones have some nice design features to set them apart from the rest. There's a belt clip and coiled cable that extends to give you a good 2 metres radius around the DJ booth and springs back rather than dragging on the floor like most headphone leads. One of the cups has a pad for resting against your shoulder for that nonchalant DJ look as you cue the records, and there's a switch on the other cup to convert the signal to mono should you encounter a really old mixer that uses split monitoring. My only small gripe is that the SEDJ-5000's do not come with a case or bag. So if you ever see me out with a box of records in one hand, and a large ball of bubble wrap and duct tape in the other you'll know what's inside it!

I used a sony head unit with my factory speaker wires and tossed in 4 of these 3-way speakers. My car was bumpin enough that I felt like a pimp...OK I am a bit of a pimp (in my dreams). Some audio expert once told me that it isn't worth wasting a ton of money on car stereo equipment since your car's interior shape is not well-suited to deliver high quality sound. Instead, he told me to invest in high end home audio. These are the perfect speakers to take advantage of "some audio expert's" advice.

They effectively block out background sound w/out forcing you to blast out your eardrums. The sound quality is very clear w/surprisingly good bass for such tiny speakers (I listen to a lot of electronica w/pounding beats so good bass is essential for me). Handles more delicate classical music well too. Also, they are super-comfortable and lightweight- ideal for endurofest rides and runus. The extralong cord is nice but can get tangled a bit too easily
