Realizing that my laptop and cellphone have become secondary appendages to my biological self, I know I need to unplug occasionally to maintain my sanity. Donning the "flower of life" could transcend and transform all of that electronic chatter and twitter and buzz into something more meaningful and life-affirming. Indeed, a thing of beauty - one that could positively transform my work and play each and every day.

I really like this necklace, it has a reminds me of the Chakana Inka symbols crossed with art deco. I know this necklace is about the universe and piece, which is probably why I feel the ties to Inka, but its also fashionable enough to wear as a stand out jewellery piece. Even though this is a men's piece I like the strong heavy chain, geometric patterned dog tag shaped pendant and a sparkle of amethyst. A well balanced gift.

The word Ganesha is made up of gana (followers of Shiva) and isha (lord), thus Shiva appointed him the lord of his ganas. Ganesha is usually depicted either as a pictograph or as an idol with the body of a man and the head of an elephant, having only one tusk, the other tusk appearing broken. His unique feature, besides the elephant head, is the large belly practically falling over his lower garment. On his chest, across his left shoulder, is his sacred thread, often in the form of a snake. The vehicle of Ganesha is the mouse, often seen paying obeisance to his lord.

He was not born a Buddha, but became a Buddha by his own efforts. Every aspirant to Buddhahood passes through the bodhisattva period -- a period comprising many lives over a vast period of time. During this period he undergoes intensive spiritual exercises and develops to perfection the qualities of generosity, discipline, renunciation, wisdom, energy, endurance, truthfulness, determination, benevolence and perfect equanimity. In a particular era there arises only one Fully Enlightened Buddha. Just as certain plants and trees can bear only one flower, even so one world-system can bear only one Fully Enlightened Buddha

Thus Saraswati means "the essence of the self." Saraswati is represented in Hindu mythology as the divine consort of Lord Brahma, the Creator of the universe. Since knowledge is necessary for creation, Saraswati symbolizes the creative power of Brahma. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped by all persons interested in knowledge, especially students, teachers, scholars, and scientists, i am enchanted by this piece and its meaning
