I really do love The Office, and season two was pretty darn hilarious, if I do say so myself. With the introduction of the "that's what she said" joke, it might possibly be one of the most subtly influential shows of our time. Who would've guessed? Anyway, I need to own this... and I would prefer if I owned it in the form of a gift for my birthday... nudge, nudge.

I have to use the MSN review of this simply because it has a few sentences that made me aspirate my coffee: "They might even say that for the money you’re spending on the Kaleidescape, you could hire a toady to organize your DVDs and put them into the player for you whenever and wherever you want. You know what those people are? Poor. So ignore them." Well, also because I can't afford to buy one and review it personally. Ha. Sigh. from MSN: Price tag: More than $10,000 (depending on configuration) Everyone knows what a hassle DVDs can be. The disc you want to watch in the bedroom is always to be found (or not) under a couch cushion in the living room. And forget trying to get the kids to put DVDs back in their cases -- especially now that they’re fabulously wealthy and think the governess should do it. With the Kaleidescape, you can say goodbye to all of those problems. That's because this system lets you store all of your DVDs on Kaleidescape servers in your home and then play the movies back in any room you like through one of the company’s proprietary players. Now, some people might point out that you could do something similar for about $100 with a copy of DVD Shrink and a used Xbox. They might even say that for the money you’re spending on the Kaleidescape, you could hire a toady to organize your DVDs and put them into the player for you whenever and wherever you want. You know what those people are? Poor. So ignore them.

  • This is only worth buying if you have a HD TV. The scenery is phenomenal and the places this series cover are incredible.

  • Movies on the living room wall or on a bed sheet draped across the backyard. Three stooges anyone? The unit has built in speakers and will work with iPods, Wii, and Xbox if you want to expand your entertainment options.

I clearly remember shouting "Go, Speed Racer, Go!" at the top of my lungs, as if Speed could really hear me. He was much more fun than Batman (and dressed better too). Now you can own the original series on DVD (along with some other goodies that are packaged alongside it.) If you can't travel in real time, travel back in time with some fabulous Japanimation.

You update it via USB (no need to remember those weird remote codes). My favorite feature of this remote is the "Actions" button, where it remembers what to turn on/off depending on what you want to do. For example, if you're watching cable, then decide to watch DVDs instead, this remote will change your input settings on your TV, turn off your cable, turn on your DVD player, and you could also set your sound settings too! One weird feature that I haven't really used is that you could upload a photo to display on that screen. What the? If you REALLY need to upload a picture of your significant other on there, you could too.
